I haven’t done new year resolutions list since 2010; not because I lack discipline (only when it comes to sweets), but rather I feel there’s no point listing all the things you wish to accomplish that year, you should just do it. Yet for some reason, here I am, writing my NYR for the first time in 8 years.
- Take better care of my body – There’s a saying: when the body is weak, the mind is weak. I will be the first one to admit I have a pretty horrid lifestyle and diet: 12 hour days, irregular meal times, garbage foods. It really hit me earlier last year when a night of spicy food, beer and dancing made me sick for the rest of the week; and I came to the realization my body simply isn’t what it was in my 20’s and adjustments must be made. My number 1 priority for 2018 (and this will be an on-going resolution) is take better care of my body. After all, nothing means anything when you don’t have your health.
- Shop my own closet – Whenever I do a closet clean I would discover piles of unworn, tag still attached items; yet every year I keep adding more things. This year I will make it a mission to only add 15 items, 1 for each month, then a little extra for birthday and holidays. Not gonna lie, this will be a tough; and #realtalk, I may not even last the month……
- Eat at home more – This will be another toughie for I’ve been eating out pretty much 5-6 days a week for years. But in an effort to lead a healthier lifestyle, I will try to cook at home. After all, it’s better when you know exactly what you’re putting into your body.
